I own an
online store selling home decor items and furniture
including room dividers. Lately, I notice that many
customers are interested in using room dividers in their
kids bedrooms. They frequently request for information
on how to effectively use a room divider in their kids
bedrooms so that they not only are able to share a bedroom
between siblings but also provide elegant decor to the room
at the same time. Few of them also have explained their
position like moving from a larger house to a smaller one,
moving from a single family home to an apartment due to
foreclosure and so on. I always tell them that a room
divider would solve their problem of limited space, privacy
and decor.
The first
question would be how to use a divider in a kids bedroom. If
a bedroom is to be shared by 2 or more siblings, the room
divider could be placed between the beds of the kids so that
each kid would get their own space. Creating a permanent
partition like a wall could be costly and difficult to
remove when not needed. But, by using a room divider, you
not only split the available space effectively, you could
also remove it when not needed. If there is a baby in the
house, you could place the divider about a foot or two away
from a corner thereby creating a diaper changing station, or
provide privacy for the mother while feeding the baby. This
space could also be used to provide privacy for kids while
getting dressed up. Placing a divider near a corner with
some space between the wall and divider, would create a
storage place where you could dump the kids toys and other
items till you get time to put them away. If you have
unopened storage boxes, with kids stuff, you could place
them in this storage space and get to them when time
permits.
These
are just a few suggestions for using a room divider in a
kids bedroom. Creativity and necessity could come up with
many other ways. While shopping for a room divider for a
kids bedroom, always keep safety in mind and get a divider
with no sharp edges, one which doesn't topple over easily
and one which is light weighted so that the kids could move
it when necessary.
