One of the
easiest rooms to redecorate is the room of your child. You
can be playful with the colors and make is as fun as you
can. The area is also small and so is the furniture, which
makes it more fun and exciting to redecorate.
The room
of your child is probably one of the areas in the house that
needs redecoration every now and then. This is because kids
grow up so fast and you have to update their room to
correspond to their age and need. The needs of your child
differ, as he became a toddler compared to his needs when he
was just an infant.
You
will surely want to redecorate a room from the house you
bought to suit the needs of your child. The fun part about
redecorating the room is that you can use this to teach him
things and have fun with him. Here are some of the ways to
make the process exciting for the both of you:
1. Plan
the design of the room together. Show him a set of colors
and ask him which color he wants for his wall. Ask him what
he wants his room to look like. Does he want to paint a
rainbow on the wall? You can also let him choose a cartoon
character for his bed sheets and pillows.
2.
After shopping for the materials, show your kids the color
of the paint you got for the room. This will be something
that they will look forward to. Show them the bed sheet with
their favorite cartoon character as well.
3.
Assign him to do a project when you are about to start the
redecoration. This he will make him feel part of the entire
process. You can give him a small canvass where he can
paint. You can also ask his older brothers to do the same.
This will keep the kids occupied while you are redecorating
and they will feel that they made a major contribution in
the redecoration of the room.
4. Once
all the furniture is in, you can invite the kids to join you
in the room. Teach them how to arrange their toys. You can
also show them how to organize their books and their
clothes. Ask them where they want to put their toys. Give
them the chance to arrange it on the shelves. This will give
them a crash course in room organization.
5.
After they have arranged the room, ask them to step outside
and make some final touches. Surprise your kids with a bag
of candies or other treats inside the room. This will be fun
for them especially when they see their favorite at the
center of the newly decorated room.
Redecorating your child's room can be fun for you and the
kids. They will surely feel proud of how the room had turned
out.
